I do product management.
User guru, platform geek, constructive propagandist, agilista, funnel hacker and analytics junkie.
I'm a product and marketing geek. Currently, I'm Director of Product Management at Basho, working on distributed systems. I used to work at Apigee doing developer relations, PM and propaganda. I'm also a weekend-warrior Rubyist, and a community organizer for events in Silicon Valley and around the globe. Previously, I worked with tech startups and enterprises to tell their stories as an account executive at LaunchSquad. Before that, I marketed innovative engineering and technology projects at Carnegie Mellon University.
I focus on working across product and marketing to create adoption. I'm obsessed with starting and scaling the practices that make healthy products, marketing machines and user communities. Working at startups, I get to do a lot: researching and reaching markets; positioning products and brands; combining user instrumentation and engagement to guide product growth; and optimizing the funnel that drives it all. My practice is built on applying agile techniques, rapid iteration and constant measurement to everything I do.
I'm always interested in talking to startups and growing companies about what they're working on. shanley.kane -at- gmail.com
